You are receiving this as you live in the vicinity of a theft of motorcycle that occurred on Thorn Royd Drive on Thursday 23rd July at 08:00hrs

A seller travelled to Bradford to complete the sale of an off-road motorbike. During the transaction, the buyer showed what appeared to be a banking app displaying that a payment had been made. The suspect also arranged a phone call, claiming to be from the bank, stating that the funds would take up to three hours to appear in the seller's account.

Trusting this information, the seller handed over the motorbike. The payment was never received and the suspect left with the bike.

Protect Yourself:

Never rely solely on screenshots or banking apps shown by a buyer.

Check your own bank account and confirm cleared funds before handing over any item.

Be wary of buyers who claim payments are delayed or pending.

Do not trust phone calls arranged by the buyer claiming to be from a bank.

Consider meeting at a safe location and taking a friend or family member with you for high-value sales.

If you have any information in relation to the above, please contact the Police on 101 or speak to a local PCSO. Please also check your CCTV or Doorbell camera if you have one during the crime timings to see if there are any activations.
